Meet one of the newest artists to join the Seven Family. Roger was born in Buffalo, and raised by a very science driven family. His mother and father met in the Philippines while in medical school, and run a Medical Practice together to this day.
In 2003, His parents moved him and 3 of his siblings to Mililani, Hawaii, where Roger went from grades 6 to 16, finishing with a BFA in Painting from the University of Hawaii.
Shortly after graduating art school, while feeling the pressure to tow the family line and get a “real job”, Roger began taking classes at a local community college to become an EMT. He came close to trading an uncertain future in art for what many would call “a safer bet”.
Luckily for us, in 2014, a friend who was a local tattoo shop owner invited him to show some work at an art show. At 23 years of age, this was the first time that Roger had found himself in close proximity to tattooing. Soon after, he was hanging out at the shop every day, drawing, painting and learning. Now knowing what he wanted to do, he quit his restaurant job and dropped out of school. But tattooing didn’t come easily for him. He ran out of money just in time to Land at the doorstep of our friends at Black Cat Tattoo. There, through steadfast work ethic and a lot of help from the guys at Black Cat, he was given an apprenticeship. Three years later, Roger was signed off as a full tattooer in 2017.Pushing his skills daily with a mixture of Neo-traditional, fine-line and black-work, we are thrilled to bring this talented artist with his creative and custom skills to Las Vegas!
